Selected Social Determinants of Health for Rhode Island
4.1% of Rhode Island residents lack health insurance (Kaiser, 2022). According to the USDA Economic Research Service, the average per capita income for Rhode Island residents in 2021 was $64,376. The ERS reports, based on 2021 ACS data, that the state-wide poverty rate is 12.1%. 10.9% of the population has not completed high school according to 2017-2021 ACS data reported by ERS. The unemployment rate in Rhode Island is 3.2% (USDA-ERS, 2022).
