Understanding the Impact of Healthcare System and Clinician Factors on Disparities in Maternal Morbidity and Mortality (R01 - Clinical Trial Optional)
Funding for multidisciplinary and innovative intervention research to understand and address maternal morbidity and mortality in the United States. Populations of focus include racial and ethnic minorities, socioeconomically disadvantaged, and underserved rural populations, with a focus on understudied healthcare factors.

Changemaker Birth Center Accreditation Grants
Grants to assist birth center applicants with fees that are due to the Commission for the Accreditation of Birth Centers, including accreditation fees and annual fees. Priority is given to programs that serve rural and low-income areas.

Tribal Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting Program Grants Inactive
Funding to develop, implement, and/or expand evidence-based home visiting services in tribal communities. The goals of the Tribal Home Visiting program are to support healthy, happy, successful American Indian and Alaska Native (AIAN) children and families through a coordinated, high-quality, evidence-based home visiting strategy, and to continue to build the evidence base for home visiting in tribal communities.

Special emphasis is given to projects focused on populations experiencing maternal health disparities, including rural communities.

Healthy Start: Eliminating Disparities in Perinatal Health Inactive
Grants to improve health outcomes before, during, and after pregnancy and reduce racial/ethnic disparities in rates of infant death and adverse perinatal outcomes. Funding is set aside for rural communities.

Healthy Families Community-Based Perinatal Health Initiative Inactive
Grants to develop and implement innovative models for integrating community-based maternal support services into perinatal systems of care. Models should be designed to improve pregnant and post-partum people's health outcomes and reduce racial and ethnic disparities. Rural and other minority populations are a priority.

Healthy Start Initiative - Enhanced Inactive
Grants to improve health outcomes before, during, and after pregnancy and reduce the racial/ethnic differences in rates of infant death and adverse perinatal outcomes. The program priority is diverse communities and populations, such as non-Hispanic Black, American Indian/Alaska Native, and rural areas that are experiencing the greatest disparities in maternal and infant health outcomes.

Maternity Care Nursing Workforce Expansion (MatCare) Program Inactive
Grants to provide support to accredited nurse midwifery programs to train nurse midwives through trainee scholarships, stipends, curriculum enhancement, and community-based training. The program is designed to grow and diversify the maternal and perinatal health nursing workforce that are prepared to address and reduce maternal mortality and morbidity in rural, tribal, and underserved urban communities.

Rural Maternity and Obstetrics Management Strategies Program (RMOMS) Inactive
Funding to improve access to, and continuity of, maternal and obstetrics care in rural communities through regional aggregated care, coordination of a continuum of care, use of telehealth, and the implementation of financial sustainability strategies.
