The Radiation Exposure Screening and Education Program (RESEP) provides funding to support eligible healthcare organizations to implement and carry out RESEP programs.
Objectives include:
- Create and share public information and education programs about detecting, preventing, and treating radiogenic cancers and diseases
- Provide medical screenings to qualifying individuals for cancer and other radiogenic diseases
- Provide individuals screened with referrals and follow-up services for medical treatment
- Facilitate documentation of Radiation Exposure Compensation Act (RECA) claims

Applicants must be located in high-impact states cited in the Radiation Exposure Act (Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Washington, or Wyoming).
Eligible organizations include:
- National Cancer Institute-designated cancer centers
- Department of Veterans Affairs hospitals or medical centers
- Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC), community health centers, non-profit or hospital-owned Rural Health Clinics (RHC)
- State and territorial governments
- County, city, township, and special district governments
- Native American tribal governments and tribal organizations
- IHS healthcare facilities, including programs provided through tribal contracts, compacts, grants, or cooperative agreements with the IHS and that are determined appropriate to raising the health status of Indians
- Nonprofit organizations with or without 501(c)(3) IRS status
Award ceiling: $250,000 per year
Expected number of awards: 8
Project period: 3 years
